Washington is a state of the United States of America, one of 50 and the 21th largest, covering about 172,000 square kilometres — 2% of the country. It is made up of two separate pieces of land. It borders Idaho and Oregon. The Columbia, Pend Oreille and Snake run through it, and it takes in Lake Chelan.
