Texas is a state of the United States of America, one of 50 and the second largest, covering about 683,000 square kilometres — 7% of the country. It lies in the south. It is made up of five separate pieces of land. It borders Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico and Oklahoma. The Brazos, Double Mountain Fork Brazos and Rio Grande run through it, and it takes in Amistad Reservoir and Falcon Lake.
