British Columbia is a province of Canada, one of 13 and the fifth largest, covering about 932,000 square kilometres — 10% of the country. It lies in the west. It is made up of nine separate pieces of land. It borders Alberta, Northwest Territories and Yukon. The Columbia, Finlay, Fraser and Liard run through it, and it takes in Kinbasket Lake, Lower Arrow Lake, Teslin Lake and Williston Lake.

A gift named for Canada is a restricted gift: recorded against Canada and spent there. If it cannot be spent there within a year it is pooled into the general fund and spent wherever it is needed most. That is a term of the gift, said here so that giving is agreeing to it.
