Yilan is a county of Taiwan, one of 21 and the tenth largest, covering about 2,020 square kilometres — 5% of the country. It lies in the northeast. It borders Hsinchu, Hualien, Keelung City, Miaoli, New Taipei City, Taichung City and Taoyuan.
