Para is a district of Suriname, one of ten and the third largest, covering about 5,800 square kilometres — 4% of the country. It lies in the north. It lies wholly within the tropics. It borders Brokopondo, Commewijne, Coronie, Marowijne, Paramaribo, Saramacca, Sipaliwini and Wanica.
