Colón is a province of Panama, one of twelve and the sixth largest, covering about 5,130 square kilometres — 7% of the country. It lies in the north. It lies wholly within the tropics. It borders Coclé, Kuna Yala, Panama and Veraguas. The Panama Canal runs through it, and it takes in Lago Gatun.
