P'yŏngan-namdo is a province of North Korea, one of eleven and the fifth largest, covering about 12,300 square kilometres — 10% of the country. It lies in the southwest. It borders Chagang-do, Hamgyŏng-namdo, Hwanghae-bukto, Hwanghae-namdo, Kangwŏn-do, P'yŏngan-bukto and P'yŏngyang.
