Bago is a division of Myanmar, one of 14 and the eighth largest, covering about 36,400 square kilometres — 5% of the country. It lies wholly within the tropics. It borders Ayeyarwady, Kayin, Magway, Mandalay, Mon and Yangon. The Ayeyarwady and Irrawaddy Delta run through it.

A gift named for Myanmar is a restricted gift: recorded against Myanmar and spent there. If it cannot be spent there within a year it is pooled into the general fund and spent wherever it is needed most. That is a term of the gift, said here so that giving is agreeing to it.
