Dowa is a district of Malawi, one of 28 and the 17th largest, covering about 2,770 square kilometres — 2% of the country. It lies in the west. It lies wholly within the tropics. It borders Dedza, Kasungu, Lilongwe, Mchinji, Nkhotakota, Ntchisi and Salima.
