Gezira is a state of Sudan, one of 17 and the 16th largest, covering about 25,100 square kilometres — 1% of the country. It lies in the east. It lies wholly within the tropics. It borders Gedarif, Khartoum, Sennar and White Nile. The El Bahr el Azraq runs through it.
