Leyte is a province of the Philippines, one of 111 and the 16th largest, covering about 5,250 square kilometres — 2% of the country. It lies in the east. It is made up of three separate pieces of land. It lies wholly within the tropics. It borders Biliran, Ormoc, Samar, Southern Leyte and Tacloban.

A gift named for Philippines is a restricted gift: recorded against Philippines and spent there. If it cannot be spent there within a year it is pooled into the general fund and spent wherever it is needed most. That is a term of the gift, said here so that giving is agreeing to it.
