About

Équateur is a province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, one of eleven and the third largest, covering about 406,000 square kilometres — 17% of the country. It lies in the north. It lies wholly within the tropics. It borders Bandundu, Kasaï-Occidental, Kasaï-Oriental and Orientale. The Busira, Congo, Ruki and Tshuapa run through it, and it takes in Lac Tumba.
