Western Australia is a state of Australia, one of nine and the largest, covering about 2,530,000 square kilometres — 33% of the country. It lies in the northwest. It is made up of two separate pieces of land. It borders Northern Territory and South Australia. The Fitzroy and Ord run through it, and it takes in Lake Argyle, Lake Barlee, Lake Disappointment and Lake Mackay.
